The company and its work

Gerber began in Portland in 1939 when Joe Gerber turned a small run of handmade kitchen knives into a new business. The company grew into one of America's most recognizable names in knives and multi-tools and still operates from the Portland facility it moved into in 1966. Gerber now manufactures both domestically and abroad, so TDV specifically highlights the company's USA-made collection rather than the entire Gerber catalog.
