Western Mountaineering

The company and its work

Western Mountaineering emerged from the early American backpacking and climbing movement and built its reputation around high-end sleeping bags and insulated equipment. Rather than chasing mass-market scale, the company became known among serious backpackers and mountaineers for lightweight equipment designed for demanding conditions.
